May 27, 2011-Everything was going the Chicago Bulls way last night in game #5 of the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals. They
had a 12-point lead with just minutes to play. It looked like the series was going to go to a 6th game. But it all fell apart
for Derrick Rose and his Bulls teammates.
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade went to work in the final minutes to send the Miami Heat to a 83-80 victory and also send Miami to the
2011 NBA Finals. Wade and LeBron each scored eight points down the stretch as the Heat ended the game on an 18-3 run. The big
moment down the stretch was a 4-point play by D-Wade, as he was fouled by Rose as he sank a 3-point shot.
The big three for Miami ended up scoring 69 of the Heats 83 ponts. LeBron James lead the way with 28 points, 11 rebounds and
6 assists. Dwyane Wade scored 21 points and pulled down 6 boards. Chris Bosh added 20 points and 10 boards.
On the other side, the Bulls Derrick Rose scored 25 points, but he only shot 9-29 from the field. Luol Deng added 18 for Chicago.
This series started out well for the Chicago Bulls as they pounded the Heat 103-82 in Game #1, but, as it turned out, they never
won again and Miami won the next four games to take the series.
The Miami Heat will now play in their second NBA Finals since they joined the league in 1988. The Heat won it all in 2006, and
their opponent back then was Dallas Mavericks. As fate would have it, the Heat will be facing Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks
once again with game #1 starting next tuesday in Miami. Should be a fun series to watch, especially the Nowitzki-LeBron matchup.
